Solar Staff equips you with all the tools needed to craft precise task descriptions, set clear expectations, and establish realistic deadlines. With well-defined parameters, contractors can deliver exactly what you envision.
Why detailed task descriptions matter
Well-crafted task descriptions and contractor reports deliver multiple benefits:
Ensure deliverables match your vision, eliminating deadline extensions, disputes, or revision requests. Documenting requirements within the system provides legal confirmation that the freelancer received proper instructions.
Validate service legitimacy during AML/CFT reviews, tax audits, and other inspections by clearly justifying payment amounts.
Create a solid foundation for resolving any potential disputes with contractors.
After selecting “Create” in the “Tasks” section, you’ll complete the “Category” and “Attributes” fields, select a service, and provide a detailed description.
Choose a relevant category and service name from the catalog. Ensure your selection aligns with the freelancer’s expertise.
Fill in the attribute fields that appear. Complete all suggested attributes when possible, with at least one attribute being mandatory.
This requirement doesn’t apply to tasks covered by the Russian Federation Federal Law “On Advertising.” See “Ad labeling: Legal compliance when working through Solar Staff” for more details.
Attribute information appears in official documentation, so accuracy matters. For instance, when completing the “URL address” attribute, include the exact link where the work will appear (whether a banner, article, or video).
Avoid placeholder text like dashes and other symbols in attribute fields.
Unsure about any attributes? Our team is ready to help via chat or email at [email protected].
We strongly recommend enabling the “Report required” option after completing attributes – this provides valuable verification of completed work.
With this feature enabled, contractors must submit a report to mark a task complete. These reports (submitted as files or links) typically include:
Detailed actions performed
Specific goals achieved and outcomes delivered
Resources utilized (providing valuable insights for future project planning)
Tangible results: screenshots, promotional materials, articles, graphics (as applicable)
Crafting effective task names and descriptions
In the third step, create a clear task name and comprehensive description addressing these key points:
What specific steps should the contractor follow?
Which guidelines or resources should inform their work?
What precise outcome do you need and through which methods?
In what format should they deliver the final result?
Example task name: “Create a company presentation video”
Example description:
Creating the concept and style of the video using the company’s main color scheme.
Organization of the filming process (including location and props selection).
Recording a video with a duration of 3 to 4 minutes.
Production (video editing, color correction, overlaying logo and other information).
Transfer of the video via a Google Drive link.
Ensure task price aligns with market value – both the scope and nature of services should justify their cost and remain comparable to market rates for similar work.
IMPORTANT! For payments to a single contractor exceeding RUB 1,500,000 per month (or equivalent in USD/EUR), we may request additional task details.
We recommend attaching supporting files – such as correspondence screenshots or written agreements – to strengthen your position should any disputes arise.
Special considerations for self-employed contractors
When working with self-employed contractors, avoid these terms in your service descriptions:
Arrangement of consumer loans
Attracting new users/customers
Services to increase sales levels
Agency fees
Services for displaying branded goods
Services for attracting potential buyers of a specific product
Also avoid these terms in your task names:
Sales manager services / Sales to current clients / Sales / Attracting clients / Lead generation / Marketing consulting
